Islam’s posture toward Jesus is dangerously misleading. Here’s why.
Because while Islam may reference the same historical figure, it ultimately rejects Jesus by denying His divinity, His crucifixion, and His resurrection, and it redefines Him in ways that fundamentally contradict the biblical account of the historical Jesus. In doing so, it seeks to separate Jesus from Christianity and appropriate Him for Islam. Then it says, “I love Jesus.” It’s deeply deceptive.
Yet the response from some Christians accommodating Islam’s view of Jesus is surprising, and quite concerning. Why?
Because Scripture is clear.
Even though Islam may refer to the same figure, it is not the same Jesus.
I repeat, it is not the same Jesus!
“If someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed… you may put up with it readily enough… as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness” (2 Corinthians 11:3-4).
Scripture issues a clear warning and leaves no ambiguity. Deception will come through those who proclaim “another Jesus.” Don’t put up with it!
So who is the real Jesus?
“Let it be known to all of you… that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, crucified, whom God raised from the dead… there is salvation. And there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:10-12).
This is the true Jesus!
Yet Islam denies these truths and presents “another Jesus,” exactly as Scripture warns.
Why does this matter?
Because God desires everyone, including Muslims, to fall in love with ‘the real’ Jesus of Nazareth and be saved.
For this reason, we must reject and address any view presenting a different message about Jesus than the one we received from Scripture, whether it comes from Islam, from professing Christians, or from any other source seeking to proclaim another Jesus or gospel. In no way should we put up with it or accommodate it.
“But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8-9
This is strong language. God is serious. Truth matters. And salvation is on the line.
Do not be deceived.
